Why boardgames.in exists

Good games.
Informed choices.

We help people in India choose board games they’ll enjoy—and understand what they’re buying.

Rules, player experiences and edition details are scattered across the web. We bring them together in one useful game page, so you can decide which game to choose.

How we research

From scattered information
to a useful recommendation.

We combine the game’s published facts with player perspectives, then explain what they mean during play.

  1. 01

    Start with the rules.

Publisher pages and rulebooks establish how the game works, its player count, age guidance and contents.

    Publisher information · Rulebooks
  2. 02

    Understand the edition.

We compare maker, importer and retailer details to explain what’s sold in India, including imports and games made by several brands.

Maker details · Edition and listing checks
  3. 03

    Listen to players.

Linked reviews and discussions help us identify recurring strengths and frustrations. Videos, where available, show play in action.

    Reviews · Discussions · How-to-play videos
  4. 04

    Explain the trade-offs.

We bring those findings into a quick verdict, “Great if” and “Skip it if” advice, practical ratings and alternatives worth considering.

The game, at a glance

Our ratings describe the experience.

They help you judge the fit. They are our editorial assessments, not customer-review scores or a single “best game” rating.

Learning curve

How much is there to learn before you can get going?

Luck & skill

How much comes from chance, and how much from player decisions?

Interaction

How much do you trade, talk, compete or work together?

Set-up

How long does it take to get the game ready?

Reading

How much text do players need to understand during play?

How to read the ratings

Learning curve uses our 1–5 scale. A 1 is around UNO or Connect 4; a 3 is around Catan; a 5 is a heavy strategy game. An easier game isn’t a worse game—it may be the best fit for the group.

The other signals describe different demands. Luck and skill sit on a spectrum; interaction and reading are described in everyday language. Setup is an estimate and can take longer the first time.

Open “Behind our ratings” on a product page for that game’s explanation. Check the maker’s age guidance and rules alongside our assessment.
